The process of covering, and what I see as smothering or suppressing, objectifies the "cozied," while satisfying the strange maternal instinct of protection that I struggle with.   The objectification is meant to be humorous and ironic, as if the husband is put in his cozy and placed on his shelf each night when he's done being useful. The wedding cozies explore the fine line between protection and suppression, loving and smothering.
